SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J.—(U.S. ASIAN WIRE)--Hispanic PR Wire, LatinClips and the San Francisco Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) are hosting an in-depth, professional development panel in San Francisco on Thursday, June 28, 2007 titled "From Media Relations to Measurement: Maximizing Your Multicultural Initiatives in 2007." The program will feature Christine Clavijo-Kish, CEO, LatinClips; Leslie Yngojo-Bowes, president and founder of U.S. Asian Wire; and Carla Cody, Esquire, director of special projects, Black PR Wire. Similar programs are traveling to dozens of PRSA chapters during the “2007 Hispanic PR & Marketing Strategies Tour.”
The distinguished panel will feature insights, tactics and tools for the execution and measurement of successful multicultural public relations programs with a concentration on media relations. Tips on setting goals and benchmarking Hispanic, African-American and Asian initiatives will be presented. Christine Clavijo-Kish is CEO of LatinClips, the nation’s leading Hispanic news monitoring and analysis company. She directs all sales and marketing strategies, and jointly oversees the overall operations and client services for the company. Clavijo-Kish also is a founding partner of Hispanic PR Wire and co-publisher of the Hispanic PR Monitor- the nation’s only trade e-newsletter dedicated to the Hispanic marketing and PR industry. She is a board member of the Hispanic Marketing & Communications Association and serves on special committees for Amigos Together for Kids and the Miami chapter of PRSA. Cristy has spent more than 10 years as a public relations and marketing practitioner and is an expert in developing multicultural, multilingual strategies and promotions for the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets. Prior to HPRW, she was practice leader and vice president of Porter Novelli's Multicultural Marketing Practice. During her tenure with the firm, she was a founding member of the practice and developed its staff and client services for nearly three years. As president and founder of U.S. Asian Wire, Inc. Leslie Yngojo-Bowes has drawn on twenty-four years of experience in news distribution, broadcast television and radio, providing her with expertise in media relations, marketing, on-air promotion, music programming and production. Before developing U.S. Asian Wire, she served as the domestic media relations manager for global news distributor, Business Wire in New York. Prior to that, she served as creative services associate at WNBC-TV in New York. She also worked in the promotions and programming department at WWOR-TV in Secaucus, New Jersey. Yngojo-Bowes began her career in radio, having worked at three major market classical music stations: KUSC radio in Los Angeles, WQXR radio in New York, and KKHI radio in San Francisco. Her appreciation of diversity in journalism, and its impact on all facets of media, was whetted while studying broadcasting at City College of San Francisco 1983-1986 and communications arts at New York Institute of Technology 1986-1990. Yngojo-Bowes, a native of San Francisco, currently resides in New Jersey with her husband, nationally acclaimed singer and voiceover talent Tom Bowes, and their two children. Carla Cody, Esquire serves as the director of special projects for Sonshine Communications, as well as the director of Black PR Wire. As an Attorney, Cody initially practiced law in South Florida in the public sector; and thereafter, in the private sector handling primarily civil litigation and transactional matters where she represented Corporate Clients in Civil litigation matters throughout South Florida. Cody is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia and Washington D.C. She is also a seasoned and accomplished public and private sector communications executive. As a former Director of Public Relations for long- time Miami-Dade County Commissioner, Dennis C. Moss, Cody has a stellar legal, marketing and writing background. Cody has worked in both South Florida and in Atlanta, Georgia as an Attorney, and also in a marketing/public relations capacity. Cody is a graduate of Florida State University where she earned a Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. She has more than 12 years of experience working in the legal field, the governmental and community affairs arena, and also in public relations and marketing.
